Bob is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Law and Villanova University, and a former five-term member of the Delaware House of Representatives where, among other positions, he served as Chair of the Judiciary Committee, the Chair of the Joint Sunset Committee, the Chair of Housing and Community Affairs Committee, and, significantly, the first Chair of the Manufactured Housing Subcommittee.
For the last twenty-three years, Bob has also been an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Delaware Law School of Widener University where he has taught classes involving the Delaware General Corporation Law, Business Principles, Secured Transactions, and Equity Practice and where he also served as an instructor for the Corporation law portion of the annual Bar Review Course for applicants taking the Delaware Bar Exam.
A member of the Delaware State Bar and the American Bar Associations since he entered practice in 1987, Bob is a member of the ABA’s Business Law Section and the DSBA’s Corporation Law and Litigation Sections.
Bob has been involved in numerous community and non-profit organizations over the years, including the Community Advisor Council of the Center for Disabilities Studies at the University of Delaware and Delaware Greenways, and is currently serving as Acting President of the Council of Civic Organizations of Brandywine Hundred, Inc., an umbrella Civic Organization representing over one hundred civic associations in Northern Delaware and as an appointed member of the New Castle County Council Redistricting Commission.
A former Partner at Duane Morris, LLP, and thereafter the principal in his business, The Law Office of Robert J. Valihura, Jr., Bob has now been a Partner in the firm Morton, Valihura & Zerbato, LLC, for the last five years.
In addition to putting his legal experience and former service as Chair of the Manufactured Housing Subcommittee of the House to work representing manufactured housing community owners, large and small, in all three counties over the last decade, Bob has developed a diverse practice, including corporate, commercial and business litigation, and advice and representation of corporations, condominiums, homeowner associations and common interest and apartment home communities.
